Running The Extra Mile With Tolo Mooketsi

City Logistics is the proud sponsor of our very own Tolo Mooketsi’s Comrades Marathon journey.

City Logistics is sponsoring our very own Tolo Mooketsi from the Klerksdorp branch, to run the 2019 Comrades Marathon.

We sat down with Tolo Mooketsi for a quick Q & A session:

Full Name: Tolo Richard Mooketsi
Date of Birth: 10 Jan 1984
Home town: Mahikeng
Height: 1,77 m
Weight: 49.9 kg
Running started :29 Jul 2017 till present

Where are you from?

I was born in Mahikeng and grow up in Lotlhakane and Skoongezicht. I attend school at Mosenogi primary school, Tselakgosi intermediate school and secondary school at Lapologang until my matric. I wanted to further my studies on sports management and economics, but I never finished. I was raised by both my parents and I’m the oldest of five children.

What sports do you do?

I’m not new on sports, first I was a soccer player and I went to school of excellence and trial at Kaizer Chiefs before I picked up an injury at the age of 21. I had to quit soccer in total, but the love of sport continues. In 2017 I bought a local newspaper, and while I was busy reading I saw an advertisement for the 10km Mandela race and fun walk. I called and register on the race day, after that it’s history. Things become faster down the line, and 1 year 9 months later I’m so excited to say that I’ll be part of the Comrades marathon up run in 2019.

Things you don’t know about Tolo:

1: I’m a Kaizer Chiefs supporter.
2: I’m very close to my family.
3: Favourite music- Vocal, R&B and Gospel.
4: I used to work at MRP before joining City Logistics.
5: I’m taking care of the family after my father passed away.
6: I visit some charities privately.
7: I’m a simple guy who loves reading books.

I respect everyone, and I take care of myself and I respect what I do. I’ve always found the secret is to train, stay fit and treat sport and my job with respect. I want to be a good example to the upcoming generation and for running my body will tell me when to stop, maybe after I have finished my 25th Comrades Marathon.

We will keep you posted on Tolo’s training and preparation for the big event. We are behind him every step of the way…
