City Couriers visited the approximately 200 residents at the Abalindi Home on 28th November, bringing some Christmas cheer to the home.
The children at the crèche aged between 18months – 6 years were treated to a personal visit by Father Christmas (alias Polo Nkosi, City Couriers HR assistant) who gave each child a present. The children enjoyed snow ice creams from the musical ice cream van which was especially arranged for the day, followed by hot-dogs and treats for lunch. 2 large trampolines were donated to the crèche and erected in the playground, much to the delight of the children.
The frail care patients were cared for with personal gifts, ice creams and hot-dogs. The outdoor rondavel verandas have been re-thatched and tiled by City Couriers, thus providing the frail care units with a comfortable outdoor area in which to sit.
The old age women were treated to new nightdresses, the old age men to slippers, together with ice creams and hot dogs.
The hospice patients who are terminally ill enjoyed sweets , chocolates and tubs of ice cream.
The orphaned children aged between 9-18 years old congregated in the educational hall, where presents were given to each child, together with ice-creams and hot dogs. In addition 2 basketball hoops were erected and balls donated for the children to practice their shooting skills.
The day was very much enjoyed by all the residents at Abalindi and by the City Couriers team which worked very hard to make their day so special.
