City Logistics Supports Rise of The Matriarch

City Logistics is proud to support Carla Geyser of Journeys with a Purpose and their next expedition, part one of the Rise of the Matriarch journey, commencing 16th Sept 2018.   CLMatriachSept2018-4 Journeys with Purpose: Rise of the Matriarch expedition is an expedition, led by an all-women group, that will set out on a conservation mission in September to raise awareness about human-wildlife conflict. Following the 2016 Elephant Ignite Expedition, where 37 different organisations were reached, over 10000 booklets distributed and over R400 000 was raised, the Rise of the Matriarch journey will focus on conservation, in particular educating communities on human/wildlife initiatives through educational booklets. CLMatriachSept2018-11 The aim is to create awareness concerning the value of our wildlife and to empower women to be wildlife ambassadors.  The first part of the journey will take the all-female team through 4 countries: Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and South Africa, a journey of approximately 8500km over a 50-day period. In 2019, the second leg of the Rise of the Matriarch journey will go further north to Angola, Zambia, Tanzania, Rwanda and Uganda. City Logistics is assisting with the transport of the boxes of educational material, on behalf of Journeys with Purpose.CLMatriachSept2018-13 “The Wonderful Wildlife Activity Book” is aimed at educating the youth and coordinating with likeminded conservation agencies in Africa. This is critical to ensuring the sustainability of our natural heritage and with the recent death of the last Northern Rhino we cannot allow another species to become extinct. Currently 98 elephants are killed each month in Africa. CLMatriachSept2018-7 We wish Carla and her team a very successful Journey with a Purpose, Rise of the Matriarch and for initiating such a remarkable project in order to protect our wildlife.
